<p>PURPOSE:To make a repayment by utilizing an automatic adjusting machine or automatic ticket vending machine by extracting a repayment ticket from passenger tickets, etc., inserted into a main body and calculating the amount of money to be paid back from the extracted payment ticket. CONSTITUTION:If fares need to be paid back because of train delay, etc., data on passenger tickets to be paid back are stored in a RAM from a host machine and the adjusting machine main body 1 is set in a repayment mode. While the repayment mode is set, a passenger ticket is inserted into an insertion slot 3 and the data stored on the passenger ticket are read out by a magnetic head. When the inserted passenger ticket, etc., is a repayment ticket (a), an arithmetic processing is performed on the basis of the data read out of the repayment ticket (a) to calculate the amount of money to be paid back, and the amount is displayed at a display part 2.
