PURPOSE: A color cathode ray tube with an improved inner shield is provided to improve the redundancy of geomagnetism by forming a long-side of an inner shield in a pincushion type and a short-side thereof in a barrel type. CONSTITUTION: A movement of electron beam due to a horizontal magnetic field is minimized by forming a long-side(14) of an inner shield in a pincushion type and a short-side(15) thereof in a barrel type. Each of the long-side(14) and the short-side(15) is comprised of three straight lines that are connected in non-parallel manner to each other to form one-side(the long-side(14) or the short-side(15)) of the inner shield. Two of the three straight lines, which are located on ends of the one-side, have an identical length. With such structure, the movement of electron beam is maintained to a horizontal direction at corners of the inner shield, thereby minimizing a mis-landing due to the left and right movement of electron beam.
