<p>PURPOSE: To provide a mobile station device wherein consumption power is reduced, and as a result, continuous waiting time can be prolonged, by effectively performing carrier search, reducing time for detecting service carrier, and reducing the number of times of useless cell search. CONSTITUTION: When service carrier is detected, receiving power is measured first by using a receiving power measuring part 16 in an allocated frequency band in a system. In a frequency restricting part 22, a frequency range in which the service carrier is searched is restricted in the vicinity of a frequency in which the measured receiving power exceeds a threshold level. In the frequency range, receiving power of a frequency in which the service carrier can exist is measured by using the receiving power measuring part 16. In a control unit 24, a frequency in which the measured receiving power is large is made a frequency which becomes a candidate of the service carrier. In a cell search execution part 18, cell search is executed first to the candidate frequency.</p> |
