摘要 PURPOSE: An apparatus for opening and closing the exit of inlet seal box in an annealing furnace is provided to shorten maintenance time required for recovering operation and minimize deterioration of productivity due to line stopping time by easily performing recovering of fracture when strip is fractured in a vertical annealing furnace. CONSTITUTION: In an annealing furnace comprising an inlet seal box(1) into which a strip is flown, a heating section which is installed in the upper part of the inlet seal box to form a hydrogen gas atmosphere, a cooling section installed in the upper part of the heating section and a return duct connected to the cooling section so that the annealing furnace continuously anneals the strip(9), the apparatus for opening and closing the exit of the inlet seal box in the annealing furnace comprises a strip fracture sensing sensor(19) which is installed at the exit side of the inlet seal box and interlockingly connected to descent of a dance roll(13) installed at the inlet seal box so that the strip fracture sensing sensor impresses strip fracture signals to a control panel; upper gate felts(25) comprising rods(31) which are oppositely installed at both sides of the strip to open or close a space between the upper exit of the inlet seal box and the strip passing by the upper exit thereof according to signals of the strip fracture sensing sensor, operated by an upper cylinder(29) installed at the inlet seal box, and guided by guides(33) installed at the inlet seal box; and lower gate felts(27) comprising rods(37) which are oppositely installed at both sides of the strip to open or close a space between the lower exit of the inlet seal box and the strip passing by the lower exit thereof at the lower side of the upper gate felts, operated by a lower cylinder(35) installed at the inlet seal box, and guided by guides(39) installed at the inlet seal box.
