PURPOSE: An inter-network interworking SMS(Short Message Service) method is provided to successfully terminate a message in a 2G(Generation) network in case that a subscriber who has a waiting message in a 3G network moves to the 2G network and accesses a system. CONSTITUTION: An MS-B(Mobile Station-B)(90) in which message waiting information is set up in an MWI(Message Waiting Indicator) of an HLR(93) moves to a 2G network and accesses to a system of the 2G network, the MS-B(90) connects to a new 2G MSC(Mobile Switching Center)(92) through a corresponding base station/BSC(Base Station Controller) of the 2G network(S901). The new 2G MSC(92) transmits a location registration notification message about the MS-B(90) to the HLR(93)(S902). The HLR(93) performs a location registration on the basis of the location registration notification message, grasps whether the MS-B(90) belongs in an old 3G MSC/SGSN(Serving GPRS Support Node)(91), and transmits a MAP(Mobile Application Part) cancellation location message to the old 3G MSC/SGSN(91)(S903). The old 3G MSC/SGSN(91) cancels registration information about the MS-B(90) on the basis of the MAP cancellation location message, and transmits a MAP cancellation location acknowledgement message for informing the cancellation to the HLR(93)(S904). The HLR(93) updates and registers location information of the MS-B(90) on the basis of the location registration notification message, and responds to the new 2G MSC(92)(S905). The HLR(93) acquires information such as addresses about at least one or more SMSCs(Short Message Service Centers) on the basis of message waiting information, transmits an SMS notification message for instructing the implementation of a termination process about a corresponding short message to a corresponding SMSC-B(94), and cancels message waiting information(S906). The SMSC-B(94) transmits an SMS notification acknowledgement message about the SMS notification message to the HLR(93)(S907). |
