CATHODE RAY TUBE WITH IMPROVED BRIDGE-TYPE SHADOW MASK

PURPOSE: A cathode ray tube with an improved bridge-type shadow mask is provided to the luminescence property by forming the width of a communicating unit at a center of a bridge different to that of an edge thereof. CONSTITUTION: A panel has a fluorescent screen therein. A funnel is connected to the panel. An electron gun is mounted on a neck unit of the funnel to discharge an electronic beam to the fluorescent screen. A shadow mask selects colors. The shadow mask includes plural slots for passing the electronic beam and an opened-type bridge in which the slots communicate to each other. A center unit of a shadow mask is bigger than a peripheral unit in a minimum width to a horizontal direction of the opened-type bridge connecting unit. The shadow mask includes a closed-type bridge in which the slots do not communicate to each other. An area(A) of the opened-type bridge connecting unit is smaller about 1-25% than an area(B) of the closed-type bridge.
