METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING WIDE EYEWEAR TEMPLES USING SHAPE MEMORY ALLOY

PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing wide eyewear temples using shape memory alloy is provided to manufacture eyewear temples and eyewear bridge having a wide width of 3 mm or more using shape memory alloy. CONSTITUTION: The method for manufacturing wide eyewear temples using shape memory alloy comprises an initial heat treatment process of heat treating an original wire rod(1) at a temperature of 600 to 800 deg.C for 10 to 90 minutes; a rolling process of forming the original wire rod into a sheet shape(2) by rolling about 5 to 40% of thickness of the original wire rod through a plurality of rolling steps; an annealing heat treatment process of annealing stress by heat treating the wire rod at a temperature of 600 to 800 deg.C for 10 to 90 minutes in each of the rolling steps; and a shape memory heat treatment process of putting the material passing through the annealing heat treatment process into eyewear temple shaped dies, thereby heat treating the material in the temperature range of 300 to 600 deg.C for 10 to 30 minutes in the dies so that the resulting material remembers the shape of the eyewear temple, wherein the method further comprises the processes of cutting holes and external appearance of fashion designs to be carved on the eyewear temple that is formed in a sheet shape by electric discharge machining using wire cutting, and forming embossed or engraved letters and figures on the eyewear temple by other mechanical machining before the shape memory heat treatment process.
