PURPOSE: A device for supplying information through a digital voice recording and a method thereof are provided to reproduce and supply corresponding contents for a user discontinuously according to user's requests by indexing a title and a page, etc. of document contents such as a book and storing/managing the corresponding contents as a voice. CONSTITUTION: A mike(31) receives a sound such as a voice. A buffer(32) amplifies the sound or delays/transmits the sound. A speaker(33) generates a sound in a reproducing process and supplies the sound for a user. A code recognition unit(34) recognizes a scan and a bar code. A book number and a page number may be recognized through a scan of an image, and data matched with a scanned image may be reproduced as a voice. The processing result is transmitted to a recording/reproducing control unit(36). A voice signal converting unit(35) converts an inputted voice signal into data form, and transmits stored data to the speaker(33). The recording/reproducing control unit(36) is connected to the code recognition unit(34), the voice signal converting unit(35), and a storing unit(37). The storing unit(37) manages information such as a book number and a page number, and corresponding voice storing information, and manages conversion information for converting information recognized through a scan and a bar code into a voice. A display(38) displays information such as a book number and a page number, and other progressing state, and receives information from the voice signal converting unit(35). A power source(39) supplies a power source for operating the above elements.
