PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare and present a quiz related with a broadcast program by receiving the broadcast program information of character broadcasting. SOLUTION: In this television receiver capable of receiving character broadcasting, the broadcast program information of character broadcasting is received, the broadcast program data are extracted from the received broadcast program information, and the extracted broadcast program data are stored in a memory. The broadcast program is selected from the broadcast program data stored in the memory, and a quiz related with the selected broadcast program is prepared and presented. After the quiz is displayed on the screen in a prescribed time, the answer of the quiz is displayed on the screen. Also, a multiple choice quiz related with the broadcast program is prepared and presented. When the answer is inputted by an answering means within the prescribed time, whether or not the inputted answer is correct is judged, and a character indicating that the answer is correct or wrong is displayed on the screen. When any answer is not inputted within the prescribed time, or the inputted answer is wrong, the answer of the presented quiz is displayed on the screen.
