PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a system by which management information on equipment or a device installed in a specific home can be easily acquired from a distant quarter and additional service related to the management information can be received. SOLUTION: In an information providing system 1, a customer terminal 4 can get access to a specific equipment or device through the Internet 2 by using an IP address individually set for the specific equipment or device in a home of one's own. More specifically, a service center 3 gets access to the equipment or device identified by the IP address according to a request from the customer terminal 4, and extracts the management information to provide it to the customer terminal 4. In addition, at the time, the service center 3 concurrently searches an own database or an outside database to extract information related to the management information on the relevant equipment or device, and provides the related information together with the management information to the customer terminal 4. |
