SOLUTION: When a component search request is outputted from a component information reader 2 to a component information providing device 1, both a public component information database 1aa and a non-public component information database 1ab corresponding to the component information reader 2 are retrieved for the component by a retrieval means 16. On the basis of the retrieval result, display picture data are generated by a display picture data generating means 1c. The generated display picture data are transmitted to the component information reader 2 by a transmission means 1d. In the component information reader 2, according to the display picture data, public component information provided as a retrieval result and user setting information are displayed by a display means 2b.
