SOLUTION: An image pickup device has an image pickup means having a plurality of photoelectric conversion sections for executing photoelectric conversion, a driving means for driving the image pickup means, a reference signal generating means for generating a reference signal to determine a driving rate for the image pickup means, and a control means for controlling the reference signal generating means so that, in the image pickup means, a first frequency of the reference signal in at least one part of a period after finishing of an exposure period up to the start of reading an optical signal generated in the photoelectric conversion section by exposure is quickened more than that of a second frequency of the reference signal at the time of reading the optical signal. |
