PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup device and a producing method therefor, with which stable sensitivity characteristics can be provided, while enhancing the sensitivity by improving the convergence efficiency. SOLUTION: In the solid-state image pickup device having a light receiving part 5, with which a light incident region is specified by a light-shielding film 17, formed on a wafer 11, this device has a transparent film 21 formed on the light incident region of the light-receiving part 5, while having a first refraction factor and having a light-transmitting function and a planarized film 22 formed to surround the sidewall of the transparent film 21, having a second refraction factor which is lower than the first refraction factor of the transparent film 21.
