PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent confusion of input video signals. SOLUTION: A multi-scan display is provided with a data table for a computer for managing sets of information corresponding to the type and display control of a computer video signal, and a data table for TV for storing sets of information corresponding to the type and display control of a TV video signal, and manages each set of information corresponding to the type and display control according to different data tables. Then, the multi-scan display discriminates by a micro computer 1 whether the computer video signal is selected or the TV video signal is selected by an input change-over circuit 4 and also detects a type of the signal (a horizontal frequency, a vertical frequency, a polarity of a synchronous signal). Thereafter, when an input video signal is the computer video signal, the display performs a search to the sets of the information corresponding to the type and display control managed according to the data table for a computer, and when it is the TV video signal, the display performs a search to the sets of information corresponding to the type and display control managed according to the data table, and thereby adjusts the size and position of a picture suitable for the input video signal.
