摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared bulb for use at low wattage, high wattage, or high voltage, with its heater resistance variable in a wide range. SOLUTION: Graphite blocks are jointed to the both ends of a heater, wherein a plate-type or coil-type heating layer is formed on the surface of a heat resistant and electric insulating substrate in the shape of a plate, a bar, or a pipe, and then internal lead wires are tightly fit into the other ends of the graphite blocks. The whole is sealed in a quartz glass tube, which is then sealed with an inert gas. For the formation of the heating layer, one or more kinds selected from a group consisting of conductive powders of carbon or graphite, metal oxides, metal carbides, metal nitrides, metal borides, or metal silicides and a binder are applied to the surface of the substrate by spattering, spraying, printing, transferring, or drawing, followed by drying and faking.
