摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate the physical position deviation of a servo position at the time of head switching. SOLUTION: At the time of head switching, a CPU 24 sets an R/W channel 20 and a servo processing circuit 21 to a start-up mode. In the start-up mode, the R/W channel 20 starts an operation to detect a servo mark by monitoring lead information from the rising of a servo gate, and at the time of detecting the servo mark, the R/W channel 20 performs an operation to detect the following position information from the lead information in a timing determined according to the detecting timing. When it is found that the servo mark is continuously detected several times in the start-up mode by a servo processing circuit 21, the circuit 21 and the R/W channel 20 are switched to a normal mode. In the normal mode, the R/W channel 20 detects the servo mark and the position information in a synchronous servo system.
