PURPOSE: An apparatus for guiding the use of a car hands free kit using a local area wireless communication and a method therefor are provided to guide a driver to use the hands free kit in a vehicle for performing a local area wireless communication with a mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: A hands free kit(200) has a memory(230) for storing an identification code intrinsically provided to a mobile communication terminal(100), a local area wireless communication module(220) for transmitting the identification code to the mobile communication terminal(100), and a control unit(210) for controlling the local area wireless communication module(220) when a power is supplied to the hands free kit(200) for transmitting the identification code stored in the memory(230) to the mobile communication terminal(100). The mobile communication terminal(100) has a local area wireless communication module(120) for receiving the identification code from the hands free kit(200), and a memory(140) for storing an identification code of the mobile communication terminal(100) and voice data of a voice guidance message. The mobile communication terminal(100) has a comparator(130) for comparing the identification code received from the hands free kit(200) with the identification code stored in the memory(140), and a hands free kit installation sensing unit(150) generates an installation sensing signal when the mobile communication terminal(100) is installed in the hands free kit(200). The mobile communication terminal(100) has a control unit(110) for controlling a voice processing unit(170) to output the voice guidance message when the identification code received from the hands free kit(200) is identical to the identification code stored in the memory(140), and converting an operation mode of the mobile communication terminal(100) into a hands free mode when the installation sensing signal is generated.
