PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for minimizing a release time lag without using any expensive sensor such as a CCD to a colorimetry sensor for adjusting white balance, and to provide a white balance adjustment method of the imaging apparatus, and a record medium. SOLUTION: A camera body 1 comprises an A/D converter 24 for generating a first white balance control data signal that is measured by a colorimetry sensor 25, an image processing circuit 16 for generating a second white balance control data signal based on the brightness of object image light that is measured by a colorimetry sensor 22, and a control circuit 21 for incorporating a white balance adjustment circuit 23 for calculating the final white balance adjustment value based on the first white balance control data signal and the second one. The white balance adjustment circuit 23 calculates the adjustment value of the final white balance using the first white balance control data signal that is generated based on the color temperature of external light that is measured in advance or in imaging, and using the generated second white balance control data signal.
