摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating method capable of cutting the electric bill by reducing the number of refrigerators in operation when they are operated at power lower than rated power while maintaining the energy of charged particles at a desired value. SOLUTION: The operating method includes intermittently supplying high-frequency power 19 from a high frequency oscillator 18 to a superconducting accelerator 6 at a duty ratio D (0<D<1) during operation at power lower than rated power as the energy of the charged particles 4 outputted from the superconducting accelerator 6 is maintained at a desired value, so as to intermittently accelerate the charged particles 4 in the superconducting accelerator 6 at the duty ratio D to lower the average current of the charged particles 4 outputted from the superconducting accelerator 6. The number of refrigerators 16 in operation, among a plurality of refrigerators 16, is reduced according to each step in which the duty ratio D is reduced.
