PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barcode reader which improves the precision of a reading test and enables an operator to recognize the result of the test at a glance by performing the reading test corresponding to an actual barcode reading situation. SOLUTION: The barcode reader 1 has a measuring mode, a standstill test mode and a moving test mode. In the standstill test mode, the reading test is performed by a prescribed number of times to a single object to be measured and a number of times of successful barcode reading is displayed. In the moving test mode, reading of the barcode of the measuring object is started and the number of the times of the successful barcode reading is counted (step S49). When the barcode cannot be read for 0.3 sec after it becomes unreadable (step S47), the number of the times of successful reading is displayed (step S47). |
