PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent recording material from getting in a folded state like an accordion when the leading edge of the recording material is caught by the tip part of a separation pawl in a fixing device where the recording material is made to pass between a rotating fixing roller and a pressure roller press- contacting with the fixing roller while rotating, a toner image carried on the recording material is fixed on the recording material by the action of heat and pressure and the recording material adhering to the fixing roller is peeled from the surface of the fixing roller by a plurality of separation pawls. SOLUTION: The tip parts of the separation pawls 18C, 18D and 18E positioned at the center part of the fixing roller 15 in the axial direction X of the fixing roller 15 are arranged on a more upstream side in a recording material carrying direction than the tip parts of the separation pawls 18A and 18B positioned at both side parts of the fixing roller 15. |
