<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system very effective in saving power and capable of achieving desired illumination by attaching an adapter and a dimmer to an existing mercury lamp lighting device. SOLUTION: The mercury lamp lighting system comprises a magnetic circuit type mercury lamp ballast, the adapter connected between a mercury lamp and the ballast and capable of equivalently and continuously varying impedance, and the dimmer for varying the impedance of the adapter according to pulse signals.</p> |
