PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an image forming device which can display a good image by preventing discharge at time of manufactur ing and image display. SOLUTION: A member 1 constituting a vacuum container is manufactured. Foreign materials 2 attached to the member 1 are electrified by electron beam, ultraviolet ray, soft X-ray, corona discharge or the like. An electrode 7 is provided facing the member 1, and the charged foreign materials 2 are removed from the member 1 by applying an electric field through impression of a voltage between the electrode 7 and the member 1. A vacuum container to be a display panel of the image forming device is manufactured from the member 1 with the foreign materials 2 removed. The electrode 7 is provided with a high resistance film on the surface of a side facing the member 1.
