PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the thickness reduction of a slot-in type optical disk drive. SOLUTION: When an optical disk 100 is pushed into the optical disk drive 1 from an opening part, a transportation part 2 holds and transports the optical disk 100 by using an upper tray and a lower tray. During transportation, a base to support an optical pickup, etc., is pressed downward by a lever 42, a buffer material to support the base is thereby elastically deformed after completion of transportation, the lever 42 is oscillated to release the base and the base is returned to a primary position. The elastic deformation of the buffer material to support the base can reduce the thickness of the device while securing the transportation.
