PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for simultaneously forming several images wherein a work of recovering from a state where a transfer material runs out, etc., can be reduced, and also, a time for rereading an image can be shortened. SOLUTION: As for the image forming apparatus provided with an image storage device 33 for storing image information, an image forming unit 1 for forming an image on a photoreceptor based on the image information stored by the image storage device 33, a primary transfer unit 2 for transferring several sheets of the image formed on the photoreceptor on the intermediate transfer belt, and a secondary transfer unit 3 for transferring the image transferred on the intermediate transfer belt on a transfer paper, the image forming apparatus is provided with a control part 30 for erasing the image data from the image storage device 33 when an operation of forming the image on the intermediate transfer belt is finished and a prescribed number of transfer papers exist in the paper feeding unit 4. |
