PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a high-speed tack welding for improving productivity as a welding apparatus. SOLUTION: An imaging unit 36, disposed on a conveyer line of a conveyer means 37, images package 3 on a tray 15, an image processor 39 acquires and stores two-dimensional position correction data of the package, in advance and outputs the position correction date to a package position correcting means 41 to correct the position of the package 3, while a lid 7, positioned by a lid positioner 12 in a tack welding means 20, is carried from the positioner to a lid tack welding part 11. Then the welder spot-welds the lid 7. This enables the lid 7 to be tack-welded to the package 3, even during image recognition time of the package 3, thereby reducing the time taken for tack welding and hence attaining high-speed tack welding work.
