Use (M1) of an embryo of Danio rerio (zebra fish) in which at least one copy of the gene for acetylcholine esterase (I) has been inactivated to screen, in vivo, for activity of a (I) inhibitor (II) on one or more cellular targets other than (I), is new. Independent claims are also included for: (1) screening (M2), in vivo, for activity of a (I) inhibitor (II) on one or more cellular targets other than (I), using the new embryos or adult D. rerio where a single copy of the (I) gene has been inactivated; (2) producing (M3) D. rerio in which at least one copy of the gene for (I) is inactivated; (3) producing (M4) D. rerio embryo in which at least one copy of the gene for (I) is inactivated; and D. rerio and its embryos produced by M3 and M4.
