<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate data which have been recorded in a recording medium, when information for prohibiting a copy is detected from an image signal. SOLUTION: An input means 2 receives input of the image signal. A copy protection information detecting means 3 detects a copy protection information contained in the image signal inputted from the input means 2. A compression means 4 compresses the image signal. A compressed data outputting means 5 outputs compressed data obtained by the compression means 4. A specified information outputting means 6 produces and outputs specified information for specifying position of the compressed data at a time when the detecting means 3 first detects the information for prohibiting a copy. Equipment for recording the compressed data can specify a leading part of unnecessary compressed information by referring the specified information, so that unnecessary information can be eliminated from a recording medium.</p> |
