PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus, capable of outputting a large image to a sheet of a large size, even if a recorder has a small-sized and outputting in a simple operation, and to provide a method for forming images. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus comprises an image division designating means for designating dividing of image data into a plurality of images at a reference position, an image variable power magnifying means for variable power magnifying the plurality of the images, an image data storage means for storing the divided and variable power magnified image data, and an imaging means for forming a first image on a first surface of the sheet folding in a plurality and second and following images on second and following surfaces of the sheet folded in the plurality.
