PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic substrate having dividing grooves that do not crack due to vibrations, etc., in a transporting step or various working steps and enable divided product sections to be brought into contact with positioning pins with accuracy without causing chipping nor cracking at the time of positioning the product sections by bringing the sections into contact with the pins. SOLUTION: Each of the dividing grooves 4 formed on the ceramic substrate 1 for dividing the product sections 2 from dummy sections 3 is formed to have a cross section composed at least of a C-surface 2b extended from the upper surface 2a of each product section 2, a vertical surface 2c extended in the thickness direction of the substrate 1 from the end of the C-surface 2b, and a tapered surface 3b extended toward the upper surface 3a of each dummy section 3 from the end of the vertical surface 2c. In addition, the length L of the vertical surface 2c is set to >=20% of the thickness T of the substrate 1, and the depths P of the dividing grooves 4 are set to <=50% of the thickness T.
