LOCATION-BASED CONTENT DELIVERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To distribute position information and contents based on it to a mobile terminal by a user-friendly method. SOLUTION: A mobile terminal 10 is configured so as to be able to determine whether its location and contents are available based on internal records. If contents are available, the mobile terminal 10 can initiate correspondence with an application server 18 to obtain the contents. The mobile terminal holds a table for identifying the availability of contents at predetermined locations. Preferably, the locations relate to cells within a wireless network wherein the mobile terminal will check for the availability of contents for a given cell and request the content. The mobile terminal 10 may check periodically the availability of contents or when the servicing cell will change.
