摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage regulator in which an increase in power consumption is small and an operation analysis of a load circuit is difficult. SOLUTION: When a load current caused to flow to a load circuit connected to an output node NO surpasses the supply capability of a constant current circuit 40, an insufficient load current is supplied from a PMOS 31 connected parallelly to the constant current circuit 40. On the other hand, when the load current caused to flow to the load circuit is not higher than a supply current of the constant current circuit 40, surplus current is caused to flow to a ground potential GND through an NMOS 32. The fluctuations of current supplied from a power supply voltage VDD can be suppressed with a small increase of power consumption by setting the supply capability of the constant current circuit 40 to an appropriate value that is equal to or less than a maximum load current. This manner can make an operation analysis of the load circuit by a monitor of a current signal waveform difficult.
