PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a payment device using a coin type IC storage medium 1. SOLUTION: A read write part 35 can read and write information out of and to the inserted coin type IC storage medium 1; and payment is done with amount information which is already stored in the coin type IC storage medium 1 and money paid through a cash insertion slot 32 and change information is stored on the coin type IC storage medium 1, which is returned.
