<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display panel where display quality and reliability can be improved by preventing deformation of the display panel that occurs at the junction of a semiconductor chip for a driver, and to provide a method for manufacturing the display panel. SOLUTION: In the display panel where a semiconductor device 5 for the driver, driving a display element, is mounted at an edge of a glass plate 2A of a glass substrate 2, where the display element is formed, with an anisotropy conductive material 3, the semiconductor device 5 is composed of the semiconductor chip 11a whose top surface is reinforced by means of a reinforcement member 21a via resin 22 of a low elastic modulus. The thickness (t) of the semiconductor chip 11a is set so as to be not more than 1/5 of the thickness T of the glass plate 2A. As a result, by preventing deformation of the display panel occurring at the junction, the display quality and reliability can be improved.</p> |
