PURPOSE: A method for transmitting a short message in a mobile communication terminal is provided to simplify a short message transmission procedure by setting the short message transmission procedure to be identical to a voice call procedure. CONSTITUTION: A user primarily inputs a receiving number of an object terminal for transmitting a short message(S11), and pushes a short message transmission function key(S12). The user inputs a return number(S14). A mobile communication terminal loads a new message or a previously stored message(S15). If the user pushes a send button, the mobile communication terminal transmits the loaded message to the object terminal(S16,S17).
