PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver with high-precision travel lane information by recognizing the travel lane of the driver's vehicle in real time even after passing a base-point marker without increasing base-point markers as to a device which recognizes the travel lane of the vehicle. SOLUTION: A travel lane information detecting means 2 detects travel lane information on the driver's vehicle 1 from a marker 9 installed in the travel lane of the vehicle 1 and a white line recognizing means 4 recognizes a white line along the travel lane. A lane change detecting means 6, on the other hand, detects whether the vehicle 1 has changed the travel lane according to the white line information of the white line recognizing means 4. Then a travel lane recognizing means 7 recognizes the travel lane position of the vehicle 1 according to ravel lane information detected by the travel lane information detecting means 2 and updates the recognized travel lane position of the vehicle 1 according to the detection result of the lane change detecting means 6 when the lane change detecting means 6 detects the lane change. |
