PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly realize the serial transmission of digital data constituting a telecine signal by using current circuit constituting elements to be used for serial transmission following HD SDI. SOLUTION: Among data representing a main central portion of each frame picture included in digital data constituting a telecine signal, first HD digital video signal data having a valid line portion where word row data based on the first portion of the above mentioned data is arranged, and second HD digital video signal data having a valid line portion where word row data based on the second portion of the above mentioned data is arranged are formed. Then, the first and second HD digital video signal data are respectively converted into serial digital data and transmitted.
