PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader where a plurality of reading conditions are set, and light quantity at reading an original is changed for each condition capable of executing optimal shading correction according to the reading conditions without spending unnecessary costs. SOLUTION: In this image reader where a plurality of reading conditions are set, and light quantity at reading an original is changed for each condition, shading data acquired by one white reference board are multiplied by a correction coefficient corresponding to a reading method so that the shading correction can be executed to a read image signal.
