PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communications equipment, capable of remotely operating switching of a memory transferring function through a communication line. SOLUTION: After a calling operation is executed from other communications equipment, such as a telephone or the like to a facsimile terminal, a user dials to transmit a password for controlling switching of ON/OFF of the memory transfer function to the facsimile terminal. The facsimile terminal analyzes the password, received at a communication controller 2 as a DTMF signal by a DTMF signal recognition unit 6, before the facsimile terminal transmits a CED indicating an incoming call to the telephone. When the user is confirmed, the facsimile terminal executes the switching of the ON/OFF of the memory transferring function designated through the telephone.
