PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that an operation and a storage are complicated since one controller is generally prepared for each household electric product such as a television receiver, an air conditioner or the like, and a complexity is further increased due to spread of portable telephones. SOLUTION: A controller-cum-portable telephone comprises a function selecting means for selecting an infrared oscillating controller function, a portable telephone function and any of both the functions, thereby selectively operating both the functions by the selecting means.
