PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promptly and accurately detect abnormality in a fuel cell. SOLUTION: This method is used for detecting abnormality in the fuel cell 1 provided with a cell for generating power by feeding hydrogen gas and air to an anode and a cathode, respectively. In this case, the abnormality in the fuel cell 1 is detected based on the drop speed of the cell voltage after stopping the fuel cell 1 (feeding stop of a reaction gas).
