PURPOSE: A method for culturing a water lily for dividing thereof is provided, therefore the water lily can be divided into several pieces and transplanted to other flowerpots, and can grow well. CONSTITUTION: The method for culturing water lily for dividing thereof comprises the steps of: cutting roots of a water lily with at least 5 year old sprouts in the shade into a size of 5 to 8 cm; dipping their pieces in a yellow soil water of 15 to 20 deg. C for 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours; planting the sprouts to a vessel and covering them with mixed soil in the thickness of 2 to 3 cm; inserting the vessel in a water tank and adding water thereinto up to the same level as the vessels; culturing them at 15 to 20 deg. C and with light of 1.25K Lux or less for 30 to 45 days; adding additional water into the water tank in the height of 10 to 20 cm when small roots are formed from the sprouts and leaves grow 5 to 10 cm; and culturing the sprouts of water lily under at 15 to 20 deg. C and with light of 2.5K Lux or less for 2 years, with changing the water in the water tank into fresh water at 4 to 5 day intervals and supplying oxygen to the water. |
