PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for amplifying a wide band signal used in a CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) scheme are provided to considerably improve the efficiency of a termination amplifier by effectively controlling an inter modulation generated when amplifying a high power RF(Radio Frequency) termination output in a wide band multiple access communication scheme such as a CDMA. CONSTITUTION: Technical elements such as a band necessary for installing and operating an amplifier, a sampling narrow band, and a sweeping time of a narrow band are set up(110). A part of narrow band is filtered among the set use bands and the filtered narrow band is transmitted to the amplifier(120). The frequency is moved from a current narrow band transmission central frequency by an interval of the narrow band in stages or successively and the moved frequency is amplifier(130). When it is unnecessary for the currently transmitted frequency to be successively moved because the currently transmitted frequency reaches a high limit or low limit boundary point of the used band, the currently transmitted frequency returns to a direction opposite to the current successive movement(140). It is determined whether the operation is continuously performed by the operation stop intention expression of an operator and an alarm signal of the operation of a system(150). If the stop of the operation is determined, the output of amplification is stopped and the successive movement central frequency setup is released(160).
