PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable high-speed communication by using a communication path exclusively to transmit data after a measurement starts and to prevent a chance to collect data from being missed by allowing a measuring instrument to continue to collect data independently even if a data processor temporarily stops after the measurement starts. SOLUTION: A measuring instrument 1 receives a measurement start signal from a data processor 3, measures a physical quantity by itself at a set sampling speed according to previously set parameters, stores measurement data in a RAM, monitors the free state of a communication line 2 and sends the measurement data to the data processor 3 when the communication line 2 is free.
