PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document managing system, in which it is not necessary to have excessive thumbnail information by managing whether how many reduced images of a source image can be accessed, by an access right. SOLUTION: A document managing server side is provided with a control part, network connecting part, reduced image generating part, document information storage part, access right information storage part and source image storage part, a client computer side is provided with a control part 21, network connecting part 24, display part 22, command input part 23 and enlarged image generating part 25, and the control part 21 of the client computer acquires the list of documents from the document managing server, displays it on the display part 22, and transmits a document ID and a user name to the document managing server. On the basis of the document ID and the user name, the control part of the document managing server performs document information acquiring processing.
