PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily realize the grasp of a track by making the characteristic of a tracking control system follow the eccentric frequency component when an optical disk is driven. SOLUTION: An optical disk device 1 is provided with a rotation frequency detecting circuit 35 for detecting the rotation frequency of a disk motor 32, a TE frequency detecting circuit 37 for detecting a frequency of the tracking error signal TE and a phase-amplitude adjusting circuit 39 for adjusting characteristics of these frequency components to substantially coincide with the characteristics of the tracking control system. The positional control of a main body of an optical pickup 4 is first performed with an eccentric component follow-up signal produced so as to make the characteristic of the tracking control system follow the eccentric (run-out) frequency component of the time when the optical disk 5 is driven, then the track is grasped by controlling the position of an objective lens 4a in accordance with the tracking error signal TE in the state where the track is easily grasped.
