Lubricating system for IC engines has lubricant tank with dividing wall opened/closed by a valve dependent upon lubricant temperature

The system has a lubricant tank (1) with two chambers (3,4) formed by a wall (2). The wall is opened or closed completely dependent upon one or more operational parameters of the engine. Opening of the wall is controlled or regulated via a valve (9), dependent upon the lubricant temperature, with one size of opening associated with each operational parameter. The tank has one large (4) and one small chamber (3), which is connected to the engine via a lubricant feed line (6) and return line (8). The lubricant tank is located outside the engine, and is arranged for a dry-sump lubricating system.
