Deposit-free polymerization in a reactor with a quasi-crystalline aluminum transition metal alloy coating on the reactor walls useful for vinyl chloride polymerization

It has been found that the deposition of a quasi-crystalline aluminum transition metal alloy coating on the polymerization reactor internal walls hinders formation of polymerization hindering deposits, e.g. in the polymerization of vinyl chloride or monomers which can be polymerized with vinyl chloride, using an emulsifying agent and/or a suspended adjuvant fed into the reactor discontinuously. An Independent claim is also included for a polymerization reactor the inner surface of which is coated at least partially with a quasi-crystalline coating, e.g. of aluminum transition metal alloy, and a pressure vessel.
