PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning optical device for which adverse influences exerted on an optical means by generated heat is made as low as possible, and to provide an imaging apparatus equipped with the scanning optical device. SOLUTION: This scanning optical device constituted so that a light beam from a light source, emitted in correspondence with recording data is guided to a deflector via a 1st optical means, and then it is made to scan and expose a photoreceptor via a 2nd optical means by the rotation of the deflector is provided with a path, where air flows from the side plate side of the housing of the imaging apparatus, and a driving motor for the deflector and the control parts of the drive motor are disposed on the path so as to be separated in position, and the deflector is covered with a metallic member provided with a plurality of plate fins having different height. |
