PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tail pipe for an exhaust system capable of both reducing pressure loss to increase exhaust flow quantity, and reducing gas current sound due to exhaust gas in simple structure. SOLUTION: This tail pipe 10 is composed of a connection part 10a connected to a discharge pipe 9e from a muffler 9, a connection part 10a straight extended rearward roughly in the same diameter as the discharge pipe 9e, and a developed part 10b extended from the connection part 10a to be developed in a tapered form, and formed to have a roughly oval cross sectional surface. An oval as a cross sectional surface of the developed part 10b of the tail pipe 10 is longer in a car width direction, and shorter in a vertical direction, and the longer axis and the shorter axis are both formed to be larger than the diameter of the connection part. As aspect ratio of the oval is 1.2-1.4, preferably, and it is about 1.3 in this embodiment.
